Hand Lay Up

Even as we invest the best technologies, we are still not afraid to make molds and parts by hand when needed therefore the Hand Lay Up process is still an integral part of our operations. Hand Lay up is a molding process where we manually place woven fiberglass mat pieces and combine them with resin to form the structure of the part.

Applied by Hand

We hand lay certain applications to ensure our molds have the most structural integrity possible. Molds which have tight curves, small radiuses, and hidden corners require equal stiffness in all directions therefore hand laying is often required.   Hand laying also ensures the finest surface quality as well with barrier coats and tooling gels still being applied. What is left is the strongest, most dimensionally true, and finest surface quality which creates a perfect part for your units.

Owens Corning M723A

We use only the finest 1-1/2 ounce strand mat which allows for an optimal surface finish behind the gelcoat while providing exceptional tensile and yield properties.
